Why should I use Nurphy?

Nurphy is the easiest way to chat online, but the best way to find this out is to join a Channel and to jump straight in to the REAL-TIME chat experience. Leave a Nurphy Channel open in a browser tab and you can join real-time chat, on the Web, on the topics that matter most to you.

What are the privacy settings?

Public Channels are shared with, and can be discovered by other Nurphy users.

Exclusive Channels are 'semi-public', therefore, only the listed participants can contribute and invite other people to participate, but uninvited Nurphy users can 'follow' along.

Private Messaging between individuals (Personal Channels) is protected from everyone but the participants.

Note: A select group of Nurphy 1.0 testers may have access to Private Channels (like Public and Exclusive Channels, but Private). Registration of new Private Channels is currently unavailable for technical reasons. If you are a participant or administrator of one of the Private Channels, please beware that it is still kept private (the prevention of new Private Channel registrations has not affected the privacy setting of your existing Private Channels).

What about file sharing?

The Nurphy recommend trying online, best-of-breed applications for documents, presentations, spreadsheets, or word processing tools, and sharing links to files hosted by these applications within your Nurphy messages. Conversations and collaboration don't mix, so you should keep your documents in the applications that do them best, and your conversations in Nurphy. This works for the Nurphy team, and we're sure it'll work for you too.

What happens when I 'watch' or 'unwatch' a channel?

'Watching' a channel is a bit like adding it to your favorites. Your 'Watching' Channels are listed on your homepage for quick access, and Nurphy will send you activity notifications to keep you in the loop.

How do I remove someone from a channel?

The Channel Admin (the person who started the Channel) can remove someone using the options on the Partcipants listing page.

How do I turn off email notifications?

You can turn off email notifications your (the 'Settings' button is also found in your Nurphy menu).
